FINNISH STUDENTS

ADA KALLIOMÄKI

I've gone already 16 times around the Sun, but Ive never been to Italy. I live with my parents, our dog and my sisters three rats. Drawing, painting and crafting have been my dearest hobbies for the longest time. I also have played in theatre for five years and I've taught myself to play piano. (I can't brag about it though. I'm not really good at it yet.) I also love watching movies with my friends and talking about them afterwards. (Even though I usually fall asleep in the middle of the third movie).

ALMA VUORI

I’m a 16-year-old high school student living in Järvenpää. I'm studying in a class of scientific/mathematical curriculum and my dream is to work as a researcher someday! Besides natural sciences I'm also into arts and music. My hobbies include drawing and playing piano. I’ve taken piano lessons for about 10 years, and my preferred types of music to play are classical compositions and movie scores. I can also play a tiny bit of guitar.

In my free time I like going to gym, playing PC games and watching movies or series. Some of my favorite series are Breaking Bad, Orange is the new black and Peaky Blinders.

I am interested in travelling and language learning. Actually I've been studying Italian by myself for about a year and a half. Improving my language skills is one of the main reasons why I wanna visit Italy!

Santeri Karttunen

I'm 17 years old finnish guy. I'm halfway through with my high-school studies and I plan on becoming to coach or gym teacher. Other options are still open but my main goal is to work with our youngsters. I'm bit of a travelling enthusiastic and my dream is to see all 7 wonders and visit every continent.

My hobbies are going to gym and videogames. My lifting hobby started when i got injured at basketball practice and basketball was no longer an option. And videogames, well i just grew in front of a nintendo.

VEERA REIMAN

I'm a 16 years old finnish high-school student from Järvenpää. I live with my mother and 14-year-old littlebrother and my father is currently living in Florida, USA. I also have a big sister and a big brother but they have their own families already so they no longer live under the same roof.

I'm in a music class and I play flute and sing. Beside that, I like to play piano even though I'm not very good at that yet. My taste in music is pretty wide: rock, pop, rap, indie rock/pop and many others. I have an addiction especially with bands like Twenty One Pilots, Panic! At The Disco, Imagine Dragons, The Neighbourhood...the list could go on and on forever!

In my spare time I go to gym, play music and watch Netflix series. I spend lots of time with my friends and we like to make food together. I also have my very own student which I teach to play flute once in a week. My other interests are traveling, photographing and drawing. 

EMI SVINHUFVUD

So hello my name is Emi, I usually write it with two capital letters like this: EMi. That way less people mistake me as "Enni" which is extremely popular name in Finland.
Im a young finnish art student who does pretty much everything for example I draw, paint, animate and I have even helped a local band with their music video.

Im a total nerd. Im obsessed with Hello Kitty, roleplaying, fantasy, scifi, Pokémon and Emilie Autumn and you can clearly see that from my clothes.   
And Im curretly really into a videogame called "Heroes of Storm" and of course every Pokémon game.

I also own a dog. Her name is Vilvi. She is a mixbreed terrier and she is my angel. 
I love meeting new people and learning about different cultures, those are the main reasons why I singed up for this project.
And keep in mind that I suffer from dyslexia so my English isnt perfect. 


JASMIN BAL

Hello everyone! My name is Jasmin and I am a 16-year old girl from Järvenpää. I am on first grade of high school.

I live with my mom, dad and two sisters. On my free time I watch movies and TV series, go to gym and play piano. My favorite TV series are OC and Gossip Girl. My favorite movie is Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I play mostly classical music by piano, but I listen all kinds of music. I listen a lot of Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, the xx and Vampire Weekend. I also LOVE travelling. Travelling is my great passion. My dream is travel to every single country on Earth someday and live in New York one day.

This will be my second time in Italy. I am very excited about this trip and to learn more about Italian culture. See you soon!

Ellen Sunila

I am 16 years old high school girl from Finland. My home lies in the small city called Järvenpää. I live with my mom and her husband. I also have a little brother. My dad lives in Helsinki, so I visit there couple times in a month.  

In my free time I meet my friends, go running, go photographing or just listen to some music. I also like watching TV series. Netflix is a good invention. 

I started playing flute when I was seven years old. Ever since I have played it. I love singing, and that´s something which I do a lot. 

Even though I love music, I don´t see it to be my occupation. Actually, I have no thoughts what I´m going to do after high school. So, it remains to be seen. 

I love travelling, and I have been in many countries during my life. My first trip abroad was actually to Italy. I was two years old, so unfortunately I can´t remember much of it. So, this is the perfect occasion to see more Italy and learn some Italian culture.

Nea Sundström

I`m almost 17 years old girl and I live in Tuusula. My family includes my mom, dad,one brother who is 21 years old but he doesn`t live home anymore and ofcourse our lovely dog. 

I`m here music line for the first year. Since I was child I have been interested in music. I play mainly piano and I have play it 10 years now. I also strum ukulele but I`m not very good at it yet and I wanted to learn play more different instruments too. 

My free time I usually be with my friends, listen to music, sing or I just watch movies and TV series. 

Have been Italy before about three years ago and I`m excited to go there again and get to know better the culture. 

Tilda Häsä

I'm a 17-year-old student from Järvenpää. I'm into all things art, but especially singing and drawing are close to my heart. I'm also interested in learning to play new instruments, such as the ukulele. I also enjoy dancing. In my free time I go to the gym, hang out with my friends and binge watch Netflix series.

I live with my mom, my dad and my 19-year-old sister. We also have two cats, one of which can be quite scary at times. I love all kinds of animals though. I also have a 28-year-old half-sister who lives nearby. I'm an aunt to her two kids. <3

I have been to several different countries before, but I've never visited Italy even though I love the language and the food. I'm very excited to learn about Italian culture and especially Italian cuisine.

Jutta Kråknäs 

I'm 17 years old girl from Järvenpää and I live with my little sister and my parents. I have studied in high school for almost two years and my studies end next year. I have no clue what I will study after high school. Last year I attended school physics project in USA. I have always enjoyed travelling so I took the chance when I got it. Also visiting new country was interesting.

I used to play football but I lost interest in it so I started going to gym. I taught myself how to play guitar few years ago. In my free time I like to hang out with my friends and watch TV series. I have travelled a lot in Europe but I have never been in Italy so I'm very excited!

Riikka Saarinen

Hi! I am a 17-year-old girl from Järvenpää High School. I live with my lovely mom in Järvenpää. My dad and big brother live in our capital city, Helsinki. I´m a outgoing girl who loves to explore different countries.

In my freetime I go to the gym and hang out with my friends and boyfriend. I used to go to a visual art club and play in theatre, but nowadays school has taken a lot of my freetime. Thats why i attended to this project, to do all the things I love! Singing has always been a part of me, thats why I chose the music class in this project.

This project is something I´ve been waiting for a long time and I´m sure that it´s going to be such a great trip! Im looking forward meeting all the italian students and making new friends.:)

Sami Lehtinen

I'm a 16 year-old finnish guy and in my first year of high school. I live in Järvenpää in a small house with my mom, brother and sister + four fluffy cats and a dog.

I'm lost in life and anxious about many things, including eating, but I do my best! I think I'm a pretty open and honest person.

My hobbies are pretty much all visual arts related, but I also play ukulele and love to learn more about music (I would love to play bass guitar). Lately I've been interested in movies too.

This is my first trip anywhere further than Sweden and my first time in a plane, so I'm excited. I hope we all have a great time with this project!

Assi Rislakki

I am 16 years old girl living in Järvenpää. I have just started the first year in Järvenpää´s high school. I am in music program because I play flute and sing a lot.

In addition to the music I have played Finnish baseball for over five years. I´m also interested in photographing and a little bit drawing.

In my family there are my mom, my dad and my 19 year old sister. We don´t have pets although I love cats.

I have been abroad five times and once in Italy. I am interested in Italian culture and that´s why I came into this project.

I'm 16 year old girl from Järvenpää. As a person i'm shy at first, but when i become more confident, i become really chill. My family consists of my parents, one little sister and a dog.

I like to draw because it's pretty much the only talent i have (just kidding). I like to try various styles, but mostly i like to draw cartoon characters with a pencil. In addition to that, i like to watch horror movies, Rick & Morty, anime and Orange Is The New Black.  I also like to read books in english.

I have been in Italy once before, and i'm really excited to come to visit again~

Anni Säynätjoki

I'm 16 year old girl from Sipoo. I'm open minded and curious person and I live with my parents and my 11 year old little sister. 

 I love to draw and it has always been a really important part of my life. Even though I'm not a member of the art line in my high school I still draw whenever I can. I'm also a big fan
of anime and manga. My absolute favorite is Shingeki no Kyojin. Anime and manga have had a huge influence on my drawing style. 

 I've been into orienteering for 10 years but still almost every time I get lost in the forest somehow. I have also played basketball in few teams. Right now I play in Hukka Basket which is a basketball team from Sipoo. Cooking and especially baking are close to my heart too. 

 I really like to travel and see the world but I've never been in Italy before. I look forward to learn about Italian culture and get to know new people. 

Samuli Nummela

My name is Samuli Nummela and im 16 years old boy. I study in Järvenpää's high school. Im on our schools art line, and i like to draw. Im currently a first year student. My favourite subjects in school are probably geography, english and of course visual arts.

I live in Järvenpää. I like to listen to music and play games. I also hang out with my friends a lot. At the moment I don't have any hobbies because I concentrate mainly on school since it takes up so much of my time.

I've been in Italy couple times before this trip, but never in La Spezia. Im relly excited about this journey because I really love Italy!
